New friends! Our 29 hour journey home. We look happy but we crying inside! Our 29 hour journey home. We look happy but we crying inside!

I have been back from my amazing holiday and reality has kicked in the vacay high has worn off, and the quest for more adventures is held close to my heart

Thank You for reading all my previous posts (here) and hope I managed to inspire you all to travel and visit Thailand there is still so much I never saw or experienced and I hope to have the opportunity to visit it again and discover more.

This trip opened our eyes, made us enjoy living in each moment seeing new things brought us to life speaking to different people brought our worlds together forever. The beauty in learning and being in a foreign place makes you learn so much about yourself. I look back at the pictures and hold on to faded memories and the joy I see in our eyes are magic. Yes, it was our first real adventure across the pond together but our bond grew stronger as friends, and we will forever have our Thailand Adventures to thank for that.

We made so many cool friends and even though we were fast friends we laughed hard and have memories that will bind us together forever. Thanks to technology we can keep in touch. I am sure if we ever do meet again we will be able to kick off like we saw each other yesterday. I truly came alive even though foreign language may have been a stumbling block along the way it was all part of the challenge that is so intriguing about different cultures and countries.

I learned that no matter how far apart we all live we all have something in common and Thailand was the start of our international quest for adventure for all of us.

I celebrated my Birthday in Bangkok our last day in Thailand before our long 29 hour flight home. More memories we will never forget we shopped the entire day went out for a great dinner then went dancing until the early hours of the morning. My 27th Birthday marked something special for me I was surrounded by my best friends in foreign land loving life I made a promise to be that happy always (easier said than done)

So much has happened in the last two months I have good times, sad times, and right now I am in a confusing season. I think about how happy I was often and long for those moments, I am not getting any younger.(that scares me) I am not going to worry about that now I want enjoy life here and make a difference in the world I live in today (while I am still here).

I wish everyone could travel and expand their worlds we get easily trapped in by our circumstances my only hope is that you can break the cycle and if you have the opportunity to go work, live or even just visit another place your world will be changed for good!

This brings the Thailand Adventure series to a close hope you enjoyed  it and here is to more adventures to come! Let me know about a Holiday, work or living experience that changed you.

Peace love & Happiness

The Island where my heart melted and I became one with life, being surrounded in the beauty you call Kho Phi Phi made my life worth existing. The island feel, the winding streets the buzz of people and the calm of the beauty all jumping at you at once made my heart melt.

The narrow winding alleys and the picturesque views completed me. I could wander the island for hours and not for a second be bored or have to talk to a single person if I didn’t want to. I could picture myself hiding out on this island for awhile just sitting under a palm tree watching all the boats of tourists come in as excited as I was when I first disembarked the boat.

Writing blog posts and sharing all the smiles, I see when I see all the new faces bask in the beauty that is Phi Phi. Talking to locals and foreigners from near and far learning their stories. Being a local at the bar on the corner where everyone knows me by name and my order by heart. I can see myself dancing on the beach as they light a fire to light up the island night sky.

Taking pictures of everything and anything just being in such an inspiring place where everyone seems to light up with a friendly face, no cars hooting you out the way just foot paths leading you to discover something more beautiful. To think a place like this exists and I only got to see it for a few hours brings me to tears. It felt like heaven on earth for a moment, a moment in time where I didn’t worry about anything or anyone, it was just me and the beauty God created.

If you have visited this Island or place, you felt, that took your breath away let me know in the comments.

I believe God created the beauty of the world for us to discover it and appreciate him so much more, give thanks for the life we live as we only have one so make it count and if you have the chance, Travel the World!

Peace love & Happiness

The Thailand Adventures -NYE Goodbye 2013 Hello 2014

Fotor0219131136

As I am doing this travel series of my Thailand adventure, it seems as though I am holding on to faded memories. My post vacay high has settled and we halfway through month 2 of the new year. Life usually starts settling and returning to normal round about this time.

I remember last year this time feeling the same and this time I finally think I need to do something about it.
(That feeling of what is my purpose here at a job and I am slowly starting to discover what makes me tick.)

I can try and capture every memory by taking a picture of everything, but I discovered on my travels where my passion is. I want to learn from people, see different places and experiences different things all while sharing it with everyone. I want that to be my everyday life. I want an adventure every day.

My NYE was amazing nothing like being on the beach with your best friend toes in the sand and 1000 other crazy people alongside you. That evening while lighting lanterns I made a wish, I know I shouldn’t share it because it won’t come true, so they say… My wish was to live more and experience life and everything it has to offer live the adventure my soul desires.

Since I started this blog in June 2013, it has been my cornerstone a therapeutic outlet for my creative being. Yes, I want to inspire you all with my beautiful pictures, travel adventures, fashion looks and inspirational words but I don’t want to be writing these things if I cannot live it too.

So as I look back at how happy I was on NYE care free with new and old friends I want my life never too loose focus on why I am here to bring hope and happiness to everyone I meet, and I think God would have intended me to do.

I think it is finally time for me to spread my wings and go…

It is amazing how, one vacation, one month back home and a passing of one friend have changed the Thailand Trio so much. We have learned that the world is truly our oyster, we don’t need to have things figured out all the time, and life is truly short and while our hearts are still beating to the sound of a drum in distant lands we need to Make it Happen!

I don’t know where I will be in the future but I do know I don’t want to wake up one day and say I never truly lived.

So I don’t know what to do now conflicted with a thousand thoughts, I thought I was finally figuring life out. Do I save up money and go and see what happens teach English or something , or stick it out here and see what happens decisions decisions…

If you had the choice to pack up and go (I know it’s not easy)What would you do?

Peace love & Happiness

The Thailand Adventures – Welcome to Paradise #3

Welcome

Ahhh, Paradise where do I begin, at the beginning rightfully so lol. Boxing Day we woke up at 5 to get to the airport by 630am for our flight out of Bangkok and to Phuket. We were spending 7 nights in Patong. This area is known as the red light district of Phuket, but we had no idea what was in store for us.

We arrived and the weather was sunny and warm. We spoke to a tour operator as we waited for our bags. Me being in charge of tours we had a clear idea of what we wanted to do.

Our List (in no particular order)

1. Elephant Trekking
2. Island hopping
3. Show of some sort
4. Touch a tiger
5. Party
6. Beach
7. Swim
8. Snorkel
9. Boat ride
10. Explore
11. Shop
12. Light lanterns
13. Make Friends
14. Thai Massage and Beauty treatments

I can say with great excitement that we completed everything on that list and more.

We booked an apartment for the week. The place is called Sunset Apartments. We loved it and looked exactly like the pictures we had seen online. We used bookings.com for all our hotel bookings and flew in using Air Asia and got good deals.

It was our first time traveling to Thailand, and we went during peak season so we were sceptic to not book a place to stay before we arrived. That’s why we booked this place, but it was not cheap.

Tip: If you want value for your money it is cheaper to find something when their or book one night and then plan the rest of the trip as you go. (Our plan for next trip)

The landlord( I feel so bad for not remembering his name) I referred to him as Mr. Chow from the Hangover lol. He was so friendly took us on a drive around the little town showed us where everything was and was always available for helping.

On our way to our place, our driver took us to a travel agent, and we booked trips for the next few days. Our plan was to do a trip one day then rest the next day. So the next day, we planned the Island hopping tour and over the next few days we would do  Adventure Trip, Phuket Phantasea show and a trip to Phi Phi.

Our first day we walked the streets checked out the beach, the mall and went for Thai massages to ease us into the adventurous week. The Thai massage was so good, just thinking about it makes me want to go back right now.

The evening we walked  down the infamous Bangla road where we spent most nights. It is so crazy people everywhere clubs and bars everywhere. Every person is trying to get you into a ping pong show or pursued you to go into their bar. It does get much, and you just have to walk away. We met some awesome people just walking down the streets. We met 3 Israeli guys they were awesome, and we ended up chilling with them most of the night, at a bar called tiger. We had many drinks and loads of fun laughing and dancing. It was one of those random unexpected nights’ best ways to kick off the holiday vibes.

Hope your enjoying these Thailand Adventure Tales, please let me know in the comments and if you have any questions about anything, planning a trip, etc. we did this trip all by ourselves so happy to help where I can.

Next week’s installment will be about our Island hopping, speed boat, snorkeling tour so please come back for that.

Peace love & Happiness

The Thailand Adventures – An Unconventional Christmas #2

I woke up Christmas morning with the unfamiliar smell of no cooking goodness lofting into my bedroom, as my mom would have been a slave to the stove at the crack of dawn already.  Instead I woke in a hotel room with two of my besties uttering soft Merry Christmases to each other.

No church on Christmas morning or gifts being exchanged instead we had an odd Thai version of an American breakfast lol Adapting to the Thai way was something we would all have to get used to very quickly, we were in Thailand after all. Even Crossing the road was difficult, cars just go and if you don’t make a run for it you may be left on the curb for a very long time. Luckily we had a secret weapon Tiny I call her , my friend T’Niele . She moved to the big city of Bangkok about 7 months ago and knows the ins and outs pretty well .

She gave us directions to travel around the city using the public transport without getting ripped off by Tuk Tuk drivers or cabs.We found our way around very easily and could not understand why people kept telling us we would hate Bangkok . We totally loved it and the smell wasn’t as bad as other people had told us . Note to self don’t always listen to everything people have to say about a place, its good to form your own opinion once you there.

So our Christmas consisted of a visit to Madame Tussauds ( my first Madame experience) was fun, took pictures like tourists Lol ( oh yes we were allowed to) Then we went to Siam Sea world aka the aquarium. It was an average experience in my opinion only because I have seen it all at home, and if you were a kid you would love it .

The best part of the day was our Christmas lunch, (can you pick up my sarcasm here lol) Wait for it…We went to Burger King, not even joking .We were so overwhelmed by the 7 stories shopping malls that just never ended. That we opted for something we knew, still shaking my head at the thought of Burger King for Christmas lunch . We then made our way to MBK with T’Nielle that had finished school for the day.

Now MBK is our version of China Town on serious steroids . Stalls upon stalls of stuff anything you want you can find it here . It is rather overwhelming to say the least . You need a few days to tackle every floor . One purchase I am crazy about is my portable charger, gadget thing . Seriously saves my life when I am out and about . We didn’t shop too much only because we knew we were coming back before we left to go home . The girls bought enough to get by for the next few days .

We had a decent dinner at the Bangkok equivalent of a Spur called, Sizzlers. It was a nice way to end off our first day in Thailand and spend our first friends Christmas together . I will say it didn’t help when my mother kept sending me pictures of her feast she prepared , no matter how many times we tell her not to cook so much , she just never listens. (Mothers knows best they say.)

Hope you enjoy these Thailand posts. Please feel free to comment below and let me know your Christmas traditions and stories . Come back next week to read all about Our first day in Phuket .

The Thailand Adventures – Photo Diary #1

The adventure began on the 23rd of December 2013. My friend Stacey, Aniko and I embarked on the long journey to Thailand. We went for a 2 week holiday that blew our minds, made us more restless to travel, made us want more adventure and thrive for more crazy life experiences.

In the next few weeks I will take you on the journey with me, as I relive those awesome memories and share them with all of you. I decided to post a Thailand adventure post every Wednesday because to me its the middle of the week and everyone needs something to look forward too in the middle of the week lol.

For today I though I  would do a photo diary of the entire trip the highlights if you would and I will go into more detail as the weeks go by. Hope you enjoy.

Peace love &Happiness
