My Thoughts for the New Year!

I want to live free of condemnation, free from fear, free from shame and free from guilt.

I want joy and love to come from my most vulnerable self because this is when I am free to be my authentic self.

I want to to be able to walk into a room with the confidence within that can light it up without a word, I want my love and joy to explode from my inner core. I want to see and feel things that even my wildest dreams could not imagine, I want freedom of the social norms without pressures from anyone.

I want to feel content with my life choices and allow them to lead me where I am needed where my trust is without borders.

I want to allow myself to love deeply, love myself, my family, my friends and any stranger that comes my way.

I want to walk barefoot across the earth and feel every inch of it in my toes, I want the wind to blow through my hair and feel sun kisses and raindrop sprinkles.

I want to fall deeply and madly in love with life, even in the mundane routines of life. I want to go to sleep every night thanking the one most high for the gift of the day and wake up every morning thanking him again for giving me each new day.

I want my love for writing to flourish as this gift I have of words are from above and not be afraid of who may read but be encouraged to share and inspire. I want to use all of me to do good and live an obedient life and even when I slip up I want to ask for forgiveness and graciously pick myself up to start all again.

I want to free myself of worry when the year takes its low turn I want to learn from every lesson, listen carefully to every soul, I want this year ahead to show me I am worth every breath I take and that caring for myself looking after every muscle is important to maintain good health.

I want to practice self-reflection strive for every goal and live whimsically in my dreams and turn them into reality. I want to be wiser and live freer but most importantly I want to live out my God-given mission by filling this world with some love and some hope.

So my thoughts may be dreamy but very practical I want to hold myself accountable this year not to give up so easily. This year ahead will mean change but I am praying for a good change one that will invigorate my spirit and give me the life I will be proud of and put me on the right path to keep walking out my heavenly Father’s plan.

Hello May

IMG_1581008400444Early morning greetings by the cold crisp air as I leave the house to set out on my daily routine. All while it is still dark outside the clear indication that the last month of autumn and the wintry cold months are approaching fast and just like that, we say Hello to May and goodbye to April.

April was a busy month, a transitioning period of sorts, planning and doing as much as possible and can proudly say now looking back the last 2 weekends of being a sloth and chilling around was acceptable. Between planning and hosting the Shop my closet Garage sale, I was proud that we managed to pull it off. Disappointed by the turnout but happy with the positive feedback we received.  To all those that supported us thank you so much! My back room still packed up full with clothes still waiting to find homes. I have now turned it into a pop up shop of sorts with visitors trickling in every so now and then. ( all are welcome)

I set out to complete these things listed below for my April do 5 random things list, and happy to say I completed most of them.

My 5 random things list for April were;

1 Shoot Courteney’s Dance video

2 Cook a meal

3 Go to Colour conference

4 Read a book

5 Random Act of Kindness

Courteney and I filmed her dance video and very proud of the outcome for a first attempt. If you have not watched it check it out below and let me know what you think.

Read A Book

I am almost finished reading the book I set out to read in April the book I read called The Art of Possibility. At some point in the book, I was not sure what I was reading but it’s very good made up of little stories from an Orchestra Conductor and how to see things differently and to see the possibility in life through doing things differently.

Cook a meal

Maybe this is a cheat just to say I cooked something, but I made homemade nachos, used the stove to cook chicken and the oven to bake the nachos and everything even made my own guacamole lol. ( I will try and make a proper healthy meal)

Colour Conference

I attended Hillsongs Colour Conference last month and it was a pivotal turning point in my spiritual self and I made a deal to read more, understand more and live a good life the life God intended for us. I was always intimidated by the Bible, but last year at the conference we received a beautiful Bible that I never touched and after the conference this year I started reading it and it was not as scary as I had imagined, the Message Bible is so easy to read and understand. I do need to dedicate more time to reading and unpacking the scriptures for myself.

My new Bible.

My new Bible.

A random act of Kindness

At our garage sale, we sold Cup Cakes and Lemonade for a good cause we want to raise R500 and donate it to the R500 project. A project where we need to just donate R500 to one of the causes. I still need to tally up how much we made I will put in the difference and send in our donation. So this one is still a work in progress but will keep you updated with the outcome.

So looking back and looking at the small things I did accomplish this past month makes me feel good and keeps me on the positive track. As some of you may of read my previous post, I was feeling very overwhelmed by life in general questioning my purpose and lacking inspiration, thanks to those of you who took the time to comment your suggestions were a great help and I am truly thankful to have awesome followers thank you so much.

So May what do you have in store for me….

Dreams into Reality Show happening this weekend so will be busy with that ( wishing and praying all runs smoothly), If you in the Cape Town area I encourage you to come check it out the production at the Artscape happening the 10th and 11th of May  tickets are available at Computicket  and is definitely a good way to spend time as a family watching great dancing and a great  story unfold. (It could make an awesome mothers day gift too!)

Dreams into Reality 2 Poster

I need to get my study on too I am doing something very scary and exciting all at the same time but more on that another time.

So May, be Good to us and may this month be better than the last, may every day be a blessing and may we appreciate life and all we have to share and learn.

Peace love and Happiness

Hard Work!

Life is all about hard work, through school University, and the real world nothing is ever easy unless you a born a Kardashion lol (even they work hard for their money.) My point is there is no easy way to the top. The difference is you can be a slave to pay bills or you can work hard to make a difference in your life.

Ever since I returned from my trip at the beginning of this year I felt a burning fire inside me, a thirst for more, see more do more and live more. The world is truly my oyster. I am not a trust fund kid, and in order to reach my goals in life I need to work hard and knowing all the effort I am putting in will make reaping the rewards all more worth it.

Starting my own Second hand clothing sale was hard work and this weekend past we hosted the sale. The weeks leading up to the sale was hard work sorting and pricing and arranging everything. With the help of family and friends we managed to make it work. Our turn out was slow and very grateful to all those who came out and supported.

At one point self doubt crept in and I was like why did I go through all this trouble for a handful of sales, and I then had to remind myself that those late nights will be worth it in the end. That I will rather work hard for something then expect a handout.

So we still have so much left to sell, and we hoping to take Shop my Closet to some Markets soon so we can sell the remaining stock.
Lesson learned; handwork is inevitable and even if you start slow don’t give up no matter what you do!

Hope you all had great weekends and here are some snaps from Shop My Closet!

Peace love and Happiness

#5RandomThings- The Results

So I have not been the greatest at doing my five random things only because things got pretty crazy in March let’s call it March madness. (If you not sure what I am referring to check out this post here then come back and read the results below.)

5 Random Things

1 Learn how to Cook a meal
2 Clean out my Closets
3 photo shoot in a nice location
4 Go Hiking
5 learn a foreign language (start)

So the results of my try something new every month experiment turned out like this;

5 learn a foreign language (start)

I found this amazing app called Duolingo and it is an awesome way to kill time and learn something new. I am learning French at the moment. It is so easy to use and because this app is like a game you want to reach the next level and you learning at the same time. I use it when I am travelling to work in the morning and home in the evenings on the train.

I recommend if you ever wanted to learn a new language to download this app Duolingo and it is available on android and Apple. Give it a try and let me know what you think?

2 Clean out my Closets

My Shop my closet sale has prompted me to clean out the closets, and it was well overdue.

Photo shoot in a nice location

So my backyard does not count as the nicest location but I did a photoshoot and video as you could see here in yesterday’s post if you missed it.

4 Go Hiking

Hiking has been something I wanted to get back into for awhile now and In March I did two great Hikes you can read and check out my awesome pictures here.

1 Learn how to Cook a meal

The one item on the list, I think my family was most excited for was this one learn how to cook a meal task. (I did not complete this one oops) So this one will Roll over to Aprils list as I do need to learn how to cook and not just make sandwiches and two minute noodles especially if I plan on venturing out on my own.

6 Go on a Road trip

I did, however, go on a mini Roadtrip so, in fact, I did do 5 random things this month and proud that I did a few things I would not normally do.

Now looking back I do not think I did too badly I had loads of fun doing these things and it does feel good to make a commitment and stick to it. (I need to work at sticking to all my tasks)

My April List

1 Shoot Courteney’s Dance Video

2 Cook a meal

3 Go to Colour Conference

4 Read a book

5 Random Act of Kindness

Hope you had a good March and ready to tackle the 4th month of the year Happy April fools day!!!

Peace love and Happiness

As I mentioned, this is the year of Making it Happen for me. For Courteney it is the year too, Hit the Ground Running. What she means by that statement is, no more procrastinating and waiting for the last minute to do things. Hit the ground running straight up, especially where school is concerned.

So with that in mind I want to set Goals for myself and Courteney did too . So when we reach the end of the year we can look back and see what we have accomplished.

YouTubers Inspire Me – Nick Miller

I hardly ever leave comments and like things on blogs or videos I watch until I started blogging and realised how important comments and likes are. Yes I do this for me but also for all you who take the time to read my rambles. I really do appreciate it and as much as I appreciate receiving it I decided if I like something or something was great or moving that person who put the effort into creating it deserves to know they doing a good job.(It only motivates them in the end)

So I take more time to thank those for the hard work that goes into creating a video or post. This came from a comment I left on Nick Millers YouTube video where I wrote something that lead to someone taking the time to leave a comment on one of my posts. (check out post here.)

I was lucky to meet this Nick Miller character at Louis Cole meet up(fun for Louis) a few months back you can check out that post here.

He’s an awesome young guy doing great things in South Africa and recently launched his YouTube channel to help people like us reach our goals. I loved this concept as it felt like it touched me personally.

Crazy snap from the Cape Town Meet up.

What I am loving about this YouTube channel is; It’s not your average beauty guru, vlogging everyday life, travels or tutorials. It is all of the above. Its not just you watching someone else live their dreams it is a two way thing, watch Nick on his adventure while learning how to create your own.

Last year I left my job I hated it so much and I was set to take control of my life and do things I want to do. Easier said than done!!! I had all these ideas but had no clue where to begin.I really appreciate what Nick is trying to do with this platform as I can see not only in South Africa but everywhere especially younger kids leaving school or University  who need help to get their dreams and goals kick started.

If you can relate please feel free to share your dreams and goals with me and I wish you all the best on accomplishing them. You can find Nick’s videos below check it out subscribe and join the journey with us.
